Help Is Here

At the start of 2020, I kept hearing, May, wait for May. I wasn't sure what to make of that, but I waited expectantly for May, believing God had something wonderful in store.

While praying on February 25th, I kept hearing, Help is on the way. I wrote those words on the large white board hanging in my office. I wasn't sure what to make of that promise, but I waited expectantly, trusting God had something wonderful in store.

Today's one-word writing prompt for Five Minute Friday is born. My thoughts immediately went to my grandson who was born three weeks ago on May 6th.

His name is Ezra.

Ezra means help.

May, wait for May. Help is on the way. Born.

Two days before the month's end, the pieces came together, flooding my mind in a split second, leaving me awestruck that God loves me enough to not let this pass by without my noticing. I don't know what else to make of this, other than knowing God did have something wonderful in store for May—Ezra is here!

I know there's more, though—God has much more in store—so I wait expectantly.

What will God do in June when I hold Ezra for the first time? When I look upon his face and our eyes meet?

What will God do in July? In August? September?

Whatever you're facing today—Help is here.

Whatever lies ahead—Help is here.

In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. Psalm 5:3 (NIV)

Not one of the Lord's good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled. Joshua 21:45
